Zen Basket

This practical, tough Fair Trade basket is made from Bakbak bark, which is derived from the abaca plant. I

t was originally thought to be a waste product, until its properties for basket weaving were recognized. The bark is a rich, dark brown, and it naturally falls off the abaca plant as new bark grows underneath it.

Made into a square style and is faced inside and out and woven to a very interesting shape, with a slightly curved, semi-rigid rim.

Ideal to store toiletries and body care products, or a host of other small items.

This Fair Trade basket was handmade in the Philippines.
