1. Shop online with THE FAIR TRADE STORE
The website, with it's online shop, sells unique, handmade Fair Trade Gifts. It offers a wide range of Fair Trade products at competitive prices backed up with outstanding customer service. The products we sell are not readily available in supermarkets or department stores, which allows you the opportunity to purchase something special.
By shopping online with us you really are "helping to make a difference" to the lives of Fair Trade producers in the developing world.
"As a keen supporter of Fair Trade I must say your prices are very competitive and the free postage and packing offer with my order was a real bonus. Good luck with your future plans."
David Brown, Wanstead, Essex.
2. Become a FAIR TRADE STORE Trader
Why not join our team of Fair Traders and sell our gifts in your spare time? You will be “helping to make a difference” to the lives of people in developing countries in a positive way.
You can do as little or as much as your circumstances allow and it is easy to get started. If you think this could be you, please contact us for more details and a no-obligation chat with Paul, the owner, about what the task involves.
We will supply all your stock and some point of sale materials. Once paid for, stock will be provided on a “sale or return” basis, which takes away the worry of you having your own money tied up in stock which you may be finding difficult to sell. We will set up an account for you offering you up to 30 days credit.
Guidance will also be given on selling prices and how to go about things generally.
You will be given up to 15% discount on the sell prices shown on the website, which will be your cost price. The difference between this cost to you and the price you sell at is yours to keep as profit.
So, selling THE FAIR TRADE STORE`s range of gifts can be a rewarding experience, as well as a great way to make an extra bit of income.
Please note: we are currently only able to offer this service in the North West of England region.
3. Host your own Fair Trade Home Party
When people get to see and feel our products it makes all the difference in demonstrating that these really are beautiful, well crafted, unique Fair Trade gifts. To enable this to happen, why not host a "Home Party" and sell to your friends, family or colleagues?
We can come to your home, workplace or community group, give a short presentation about Fair Trade and some of the producer groups and supply all the stock you need to display. We can also provide suitable leaflets and point of sale material.
All remaining stock will be taken away at the end of the event, leaving you with a tidy home or workplace and a lot of happy friends or colleagues.
Of course, if you want us to deliver the stock to you and then leave you to host your party on your own, then that is fine. We can meet again after the event to collect any remaining stock and to sign off your sales takings.
What's Involved?
Your incentive
You don't pay anything up front for the stock and at the end of the party, the host or hostess receives 10% of the party sales as a thank you. If sales are more than 200 pounds then this increases to 15%. This can be paid in cash at the end of the evening. So, hosting a "Home Party" can be an ideal, fun way to earn some extra income. Earnings for the host of between 30 - 50 pounds are a realistic expectation for a successful party.
Venue
Basically just a suitable room to host the party. Some flat surfaces to display the products on are useful, together with some mirrors to help your guests.
Invitations
We can help you design and personalise invitations to give or send to your friends, family or work colleagues.
Food, Drink, Music and Entertainment
Best to keep it simple – perhaps Fairtrade tea, coffee, juice and wine, together with some snacks and confectionery. We can provide suitable “mood music” for you to play in the background to help set the right atmosphere.
Your Guests
There will certainly be no “hard sell” from us - we want you to relax and enjoy your get-together. If anyone wants to buy anything then they can do so there and then at the party, or they can place an order and we will deliver the products to their home at a later date. A gathering of at least 6 people works best.
Products To Feature At Your Party
Please browse our website and select a range of Fair Trade Gifts you would like us to bring along and then contact us to discuss your requirements. We sell a wide range of Fair Trade bags, jewellery, accessories, candles, incense, recycled gifts etc.
Timings
A "Home Party" usually works best over a 2-3 hour period, perhaps in the evening from 8pm, which allows everyone enough time to relax and get to know each other.
" Our party went very well. It was straightforward to arrange and the products supplied were absolutely gorgeous. As a result, my friends bought loads of gifts, earning me some very useful commission. Thank you for all your help and support. I would definitely hold another Home Party with you in the future."
Brenda W, Southport, Merseyside. Dec 2009.
Please note: we are currently only able to offer the "Home Party" service in the North West of England region.
