Bone Beads Necklace, Light Brown Ovals

One of our best selling Fair Trade jewellery products.

Strikingly ethnic yet contemporary  - a light brown necklace made with oval shaped, waste bone beads, with small beads at the top.  There is a metal clasp to fasten a the top.

The bone is dyed in a dye bath to create this vibrant colour.

This Fair Trade bone necklace was handmade in India.

Dimensions - has a drop of 27 cm approx.

The Federation of Tibetan Cooperatives in India (FTCI) is based in Delhi and is a non-profit charitable society run by the Tibetan Government in exile helping workers.

With the help of the Indian Government and aid from other organisations a Tibetan settlement was formed in 1959 after 100,000 Tibetan refugees fled Tibet when the Chinese forces invaded.

There are currently 60,00 Tibetan Federation farmers living and working in India. FTCI now also works with local Indian artists.
