Chunky Fair Trade necklace, made from canvas beads and yellow, green and turquiose wood chunks. The canvas beads are striped with attractive purple, blue and green colours. The overall effect creates a bright, funky fashion statement.

This Fair Trade necklace was handmade in Thailand. A message from the ladies in Bangkok is "kop khun kha" ("Thank you").

Producer Information
This operation consists of a small team of mainly female artisans based on the outskirts of Bangkok, Thailand. The workers are nurtured and supported, leading to a loyal and motivated workforce.
1o full time, highly skilled artisans work in the studio designing and making necklaces and bracelets, along with about 15 - 20 home workers who do the beading. Workers earn at least 35% above the national minimum wage, they get their lunch paid for and their medical care. The workers are offered good working hours - overtime is voluntary and never exceeds 12 hours per week.
Staff are involved in the decision making process giving them a sense of empowerment unusual for this type of industry.
