Divine is a farmer-owned Fairtrade company, based in Ghana.   This product has been endorsed by The Fairtrade Foundation and the pack carries their Mark.

Contains Fairtrade brazil nuts, Fairtrade cocoa mass, Fairtrade sugar, Fairtrade cocoa butter and Fairtrade vanilla.  In fact, 90% of the ingredients have been certified to international Fairtrade standards.

Suitable for vegetarians.  Warning: contains nuts and soya. May also contain traces of peanuts, milk and and gluten.

Divine was born in 1993 with the birth of Kuapa Kokoo, a pioneering cocoa farmers’ co-operative, dedicated to producing high quality cocoa and running a democratic organisation with the farmer`s interests at heart. In 1997 they entered into the UK market with The Day Chocolate Company, who launched the Divine range in 1998.

Kuapa Kokoo farmers own 33% of The Day Chocolate Company, which means they influence how the company is run and get a share of the profits.

Making chocolate this way means children now have better access to clean water, healthcare and education.

Today, The Kuapa Kokoo cooperative has 45,000 members in 1,200 villages producing 6% of Ghana`s cocoa and is backed by UKaid from the Department for International Development.
