Juice Recycled Messenger Bag

A trendy, stylish Fair Trade Juice recycled messenger bag, suitable for men or women.

It  has a velcro-fastening front flap, leading to one large compartment which is ideal for books and files etc. It easily holds any A4 stationery. The bag has a plain, black fabric trim.

The bag is made from collected juice carton refuse, thus avoiding landfills and creating quirky, fun fashion. 

Each item is therefore unique and may differ slightly from the actual images shown.

This Fair Trade recycled messenger bag was handmade in the Philippines.

Dimensions - width 35 cm  x  height 28 cm  x  depth 10 cm.  The strap is fully adjustable and when fully extended has a drop of 40 cm approx.

This co-operative was founded in 2007 and is made up of 10 part time studio workers and about 70 home workers, mainly women who are all paid the national minimum wage or above, allowing them to support their families.

The workers get a bonus every Christmas, equivalent to one month`s wage. Their healthcare is also supported. These workers are from the Cebu mountain regions where work is difficult to gain.

The project supports both local jobs and helps to keep the surrounding environment clean as the materials used by the artisans is waste packaging that was heading for landfill. The co-operative has been funded by the UK and a French partner to purchase the sewing machines and cleaning facilities.
