As part of recent activities during Fairtrade Fortnight, Paul Wolfenden, owner of THE FAIR TRADE STORE was presented with a certificate by The Mayor of Sefton, Councillor Alf Doran.
This certificate acknowledges that THE FAIR TRADE STORE is a committed supplier of Fairtrade products to customers throughtout the Borough and beyond.
The presentation was made in the prestigious surroundings of Southport Town Hall.

The Fairtrade Mark
Paul said after the presentation “It is a great honour to be recognised in this way and at a time when Sefton is applying to
The Fairtrade Foundation for official Fairtrade Borough Status. My business intends to be at the forefront of bringing Fairtrade products to as wide an audience as possible.”

Just how can Primark do it? A set of 5 bangles for only £2.50. Incredible.
But hang on a minute…….why don`t you stop and think about the implications of these ridiculously low retail prices? How much is the worker in Asia being paid for their labour? And what conditions do they actually work in?
At THE FAIR TRADE STORE we only buy from businesses that uphold Fair Trade principles – meaning a fair, sustainable price is paid to the producer, no child labour and decent working conditions for all.
Our Fair Trade jewellery is all handmade, yet doesn`t cost the earth, either!

Handmade red seed bracelet from Lima, Peru
If you want to shop ethically for that special gift why not take a look at our extensive range of
Fair Trade Jewellery? Prices may not be as low as Primark, but there`s a lot more love involved.

Why are these Fairtrade Chocolate covered brazil nuts so Divine?

Divine whole Brazil Nuts covered in dark Fairtrade Chocolate
Well, they are richly covered in 70% dark
Fairtrade Chocolate for a start, which has been produced by
Kuapa Kokoo, a pioneeering farmer`s cooperative in Ghana. Their brand in the UK is
Divine, which is one of
THE FAIR TRADE STORE`s favourites.
Then there are the brazil nuts themselves – large, top quality and
Fairtrade certified too. Look out for
The Fairtrade Mark on each pack – your personal guarantee that the
Fairtrade producers in Ghana have been paid a fair price.
So why not treat yourself or your loved-ones this Easter by supporting Fairtrade, rather than shopping on the High Street or the supermarkets? You really will be “helping to make a difference”.
